Our Team

John
Owner & CEO
John Hayes here. I am the owner of Goodman’s Jewelers. Since the days of Bob & Irwin Goodman, we have always been deeply rooted in this
community. Our guiding principles are honesty, integrity, and supporting the community who supports you. Education is of the upmost importance to me, that is why the Goodman’s team is GIA trained. We work on quality relationship, not commission. I want everyone to feel welcome at Goodman’s. We are a family here and will treat you the same. If you don’t know us, then come on in! You’ll feel the difference from the moment you walk through our doors.

Jennifer
Graduate Gemologist, Buyer, & Manager
I have been a part of the Goodman’s family for over 30 years now and we’re literally family. John is my Dad, and for better or worse, Jeremy is my brother 🙂 I am our Graduate Gemologist which means I write your appraisals so you can have your jewelry insured. I am very involved in hand selecting every item in our showcases. Along with these positions, I am also the store manager. My main credentials are: GIA Graduate Gemologist, GIA Pearls Graduate, The Diamond Council of America – Diamonds, & The Diamond Council of America – Colored Gemstones. I often work behind the scenes, but with having a small team that means you might see me out on the showroom floor with clients or helping out in the office.

Jeremy
Goldsmith
My first day at Goodman’s was November 23, 1998 and the rest is history. Time flies and I have been at my bench for over 25 years. My work style: Precision and NO shortcuts, period. When it comes to repair work, I run the gamut; simple chain repairs to full heirloom restorations. I am extremely detailed and handle each piece as if it were my own. I take what I do very seriously and respect the trust that people place in me and Goodman’s to care for their jewelry. I’ve learned a wide range of skills over my years and still continue to learn or teach myself new things daily. One of my favorite things to do at Goodman’s is custom creations. My primary method is lost wax casting where I hand carve a 3-D, detailed, wax model for you. I am also skilled in hand fabrication where I build your item from the ground up. If you haven’t been in to see us at Goodman’s, come on by. We’d be honored to help in any way we can. If you’ve read this far, you may have noticed that John & I have the same last name. That’s right, we’re related. John is my Dad and it’s an honor to get to work with him every day.

JAKE
Goldsmith
I’m Jake. I started training to be a Goldsmith at Goodman’s Jewelers when I was 17. Hey, it got me out of school for a couple hours. I had an excellent mentor here and I excelled right away. I knew quickly that this was going to be my career. Outside of my apprenticeship at Goodman’s I have extensive training through GRS- the leading training center for bench jewelers. I’ve studied & practiced in multiple disciplines including the GRS Grand Master’s program. My specialties include custom designs, in house casting, pavé setting, hand engraving and CAD/CAM. I’ve been fortunate to have won multiple awards though out my career and have had my work featured in GRS publications.
I then began my solo career when I open my own custom jewelry boutique with my mom. We ran the business together and created custom jewelry for 12 years. The time came that my mom was ready to retire and I returned to my roots at Goodman’s working with my buddy, Jeremy. I’m excited to be back and to be able to provide Goodman’s with some newtechnologies and processes such as full inhouse CAD design, 3-D printing, and casting. Let the fun begin.

Kristin
Jewelry Specialist, Buyer, & Brand Marketing
Hi! I’m Kristin and I’ve been with Goodman’s for a number of years now. My background in jewelry began at about age 17 when I started learning
jewelry making from my home town jeweler. I then went to college and earned my BFA in jewelry and metalsmithing with a focus on art jewelry
as well as a minor in art history. I have certifications as: GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional, GIA Diamonds, GIA Colored Stones. I have a colorful jewelry background having worked on both the east coast and west coast as a Jewelry Production Manager for two fantastic companies and an awesome high art jewelry gallery. I found my way back home to Madison and joined the Goodman’s team about 10 years ago. Goodman’s just feels like home. I LOVE that we don’t work on commission here because that’s not my vibe. You can find me in the showroom with clients discussing the technical or artistic aspects of jewelry or working with clients on custom designs. I also handle the marketing and social media for Goodman’s so please, hop on our social channels and follow us to see the latest and greatest at Goodman’s!

Teresa
Jewelry Specialist
I’m Teresa and I’m the newest member of the Goodman’s family, but I am no stranger to the fashion industry and design world. For many years I worked in the floral/bridal industry. Then I had the pleasure of owning a clothing boutique with my daughter which we ran together for 10 years. We were proud of our accomplishments, but both wanted to step away from owning a business. I joined the Goodman’s team in 2024 and from what they tell me, I was meant to be in jewelry. 🙂 I love getting to meet so many people and helping them celebrate all different occasions!

Maya
Client Service Specialist
I’m Maya and I’ve been with Goodman’s for six years. When I was asked to write my bio, I chose to just write down the Meow Mix song… that’s my sense of humor. I do LOVE cats though! I am the primary person in the office, so odds are you’ll meet little ole me while you’re here.
